I create fused glass landscapes by using sheets of clear glass combined with glass paints, enamels, pulled vitrigraph stringers and crushed glass frits. Each piece is fired between two and five times. Due to the repeated firings, my work has great depth and dimension as each firing is completed at a different temperature while adding layers of both clear glass and crushed glass frits. The final firing is usually completed at a slightly lower temperature so that the final layer of frits leaves a textured surface. In addition, when the tile is complete, it is mounted in front of a mirror. The mirror adds another layer of dimension to the piece, as the reflection of the tile will shift in relation to the viewing angle. The addition of the mirror also provides an indirect source of light to backlight the piece.

These works are much larger than the others. They are mounted on a custom cut mirror, then mounted on a custom-made powder-coated aluminum frame. The glass is held in place using a proprietary custom-made bracket system. These pieces are suitable for a larger wall area, perhaps above a sofa. I welcome custom work and these frames can be modified in size to fit the requirements of almost any space.
